Starting With Suzuki

The Starting with Suzuki Core Package includes a daily 30 min Group Class, 30 min Masterclass, 30 min Music & Movement, and 30 min Parent Education class (childcare provided), observation of other classes, and access to all events during camp.

Open to families who are new to the program, or families who have completed previous Transitions classes. Students must be minimum 3 years of age. Starting With Suzuki is an immersive introduction to the Suzuki experience. Children will learn the basic foundational skills of playing a string instrument, as well as how to be comfortable in a group, to do things together, and to take turns. The parts of the instrument, handling the instrument, rhythms, and correct posture are reinforced, as well as focusing and listening skills. Parents will learn the basics of the Suzuki philosophy and how to practice with their child at home. Students and parents alike will get to meet others in the program and form friendships and bonds that will support their musical growth over time.
