Music With Your Baby/Transitions

Music With Your Baby/Toddler includes a 45 min daily group class, as well as access to all events during camp.  Observation of group classes and masterclasses is encouraged and welcome!

The Music With Your Baby (MWYB) class blends elements from several early childhood music education philosophies, including Kodaly, Dalcroze Eurhythmics, Orff and Suzuki Talent Education. Classes involve the following musical experiences: singing; creative movement; rhythm; basic musical concepts; story time; taking turns; learning traditional nursery repertoire of songs and games that can be incorporated into daily life.  Together parents learn about their babies’ development through sensory activities while connecting with other families.  The Transitions class is designed for young children who are interested in playing a string instrument but are not quite ready for structured private or group lessons. As the child is developing enough dexterity and maturity to handle the instrument, and comfort in an instructional environment, this class will build on the skills and experiences gained in MWYB nurture the transition to more formalized Suzuki instrumental lessons.
